Robert Pattinson Says Focus on Relationship with Kristen Stewart Has 'Been Traumatic'

both despise the limelight, and have tactfully avoided answering questions about whether they're involved romantically. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Rob admits that all the attention paid to whether or not they're a couple weighs heavily on them both.

"It's just very traumatic," the 24-year-old said. "When this is over, the media will lose interest. There'll be nothing to say. It won't fit into a headline anymore. It won't fit into a template."

And even a mega-star like R-Patz admits that at the end of the day, there is not much he can do to control the media's obsession.

"There's nothing you can do about it. That's the way it is... It's weird, because people have this one-sided relationship where they look at your picture and feel they know you more than someone they actually know."

He continued: "I don't really know myself that well."

Rob's next movie, Water for Elephants, is due out in April. The young actor admitted to Vanity Fair that he did strike up an unlikely romance while working on the film -- with his elephant co-star, Tai.

“She was the best actor I ever worked with in my life,” he said. “I cried when the elephant was wrapped. I never cried when anyone else was wrapped.”
